HIGH PERFORMANCE

NEVER STOPS TRANSFORMING

DESIGNING HIGH PERFORMANCE IN ACADEMIA

Academia has never played a more critical role; yet faces unprecedented pressure to deliver. To meet these demands, institutions must continue to evolve and transform.

Informed by a survey of academic leaders worldwide, we’ve reimagined the current and ideal future states of academic performance through the lens of a discipline that has performance at its heart: automotive design.

Discover Academia Presente and Academia Futura.

THE CURRENT STATE OF ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE

Our survey of academic leaders identified 25 High Performance Objectives (HPOs), revealing their priority and the progress institutions are making against them. Across areas as diverse as strategy, funding, partnerships, operations and reputation, they identified opportunities and the need for progress.

Academic leaders understand that to stand still is to fall behind.

THREE PRIORITY AREAS,
THREE OPPORTUNITIES TO TRANSFORM

GLOBAL NETWORKS

Academia Presente has a foundational, yet somewhat limited, level of connectivity, featuring satellite radio and navigation. However, it also holds the potential for a more advanced, integrated network—one where it could seamlessly connect and interact with other vehicles on the road.

DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

Academia Presente features valuable technologies such as conventional aerodynamics. However, there are significant opportunities to incorporate additional smart technologies such as active aerodynamics to further enhance its performance.

SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES

Academia Presente operates with a traditional hybrid engine powered by both electricity and petrol, providing an efficient balance of energy sources. However, there is promising potential to transition towards more sustainable, high-performance alternatives.

THE FUTURE STATE OF ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE

Beyond priority and progress, the survey also asked academic leaders which of the 25 High-Performance Objectives hold the most transformative potential. Interestingly, only three of the five HPOs deemed as most transformative by the leaders surveyed overlap with the three key priority areas they identified.

Informed by research, Academia Futura conceptualizes academia as a high-performance car designed to accelerate institutions forward into the next decade (and beyond).

Their vision for the future is networked, sustainable and digitally enhanced.

DESIGNED FOR EXCELLENCE.
BUILT FOR PERFORMANCE.

DEVELOPED AND STRONG GLOBAL EDUCATION NETWORK

To represent the transformative power of Global Networks, Futura is equipped with an antenna that facilitates a Car2Car sharing network. Just as this technology enables real-time communication and collaboration, keeping traffic moving smoothly, the creation of global networks in academia fosters collaboration among institutions, researchers and students. This interconnectedness enhances knowledge sharing, accelerates innovation and creates opportunities for interdisciplinary projects, ultimately enriching the educational experience and driving progress on a global scale.

EFFECTIVE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

To illustrate the transformative power of Digital Transformation for institutions, Futura’s design incorporates an advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) that uses multiple AI sensors and algorithms for safe, efficient navigation. Just as ADAS automates tasks like lane-keeping and adaptive cruise control, digital technologies enable institutions to streamline routine processes, reducing costs and enhancing efficiency.

HIGH SUSTAINABILITY PERFORMANCE

To showcase the transformative potential of sustainable practices, Futura is equipped with a hybrid powertrain that utilizes both electricity and hydrogen. Just as this innovative system intelligently switches between fuels based on performance needs, optimizing efficiency while minimizing environmental impact, sustainable practices in academia can enhance resource management, reduce waste, and promote a culture of environmental stewardship, ultimately leading to a more resilient and responsible academic ecosystem.
